fungi of western ghat

New Fungi

MykoTech's team has discovered two species of fungi new to science from the Western Ghats forests of India. These have been named Digitoramispora tambdisurlensis and Spondylocladiopsis aseptata. This finding has been reported in a paper published in the International Journal Mycotaxon (see Publications)..

Myko Tech is developing a technology for production of water soluble melanin from a fungus for use in cosmetic and other industries. The photograph shows the culture filtrate of the fungus


Myko Tech has been granted a project by the DBT under its ‘Small Business Innovative Research Initiative’ (SBIRI) programme, starting from September 2008.
